Our 2023 Proudly Pro-Life Honorees

Lisa M. Cooley

Wife of Michael Cooley, mother of Sierra and Brayden, and a parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy in East Greenwich, Lisa moved from Texas in 2007 to Rhode Island and, prompted by the Holy Spirit, joined the pro-life movement in 2011. In 2013 she was asked to work for the Diocese of Providence, Office of Life and Family to do St. Gabriel’s Call, helping families in need. In 2017 she was asked to teach Theology of the Body to Confirmation students, and in 2020 she was asked to be the Coordinator of the Office of Life and Family. “It has been quite a conversion since moving to RI and I am grateful for the many opportunities that have had in spreading the Gospel and living out my faith.”

We Heart Lives

We Heart Lives is a solution-driven 501 (c)(3) organization based in Rhode Island with a mission to resource and strengthen families, women and children through community events & supporting organizations who are providing support to those in need throughout the world. In May, 2021,they hosted their first Baby Shower for women at or below the poverty level who are in need of baby essentials but lack family or community to host one for them. To date they have held seven baby showers, for 355 mothers.

Sidewalk Counselors and Prayer Warriors

Dozens of pro-life individuals show up outside Planned Parenthood each week to reach out with help and hope to mothers facing an unexpected pregnancy. Whether by offering information and assistance, or simply by their prayerful presence, they give loving witness to the goodness and beauty of motherhood and the inestimable value of each human life.
